About this course

Hospitals learn and stay safe through many small, careful decisions: which near miss deserves a root-cause analysis, whether a patient's antibiotics still fit their culture result, who shared a room with an infectious patient, which grafts sat in a freezer that drifted out of range. Moraph's clinical quality products give the people who make those decisions one record for each of them, with the evidence and sign-offs kept together.

This course covers six products: Patient Safety & Incident Reporting, Antibiotic Stewardship Tracker, Pharmacy Diversion Monitor, Infection Control & Contact Tracing, Implant & Tissue Compliance Tracker, and Blood Bank Inventory & Safety. You'll learn the everyday workflow in each, the roles and settings that shape it, and, just as important, the decisions and reports that stay with your staff rather than the software.

What you’ll be able to do

  • Move a safety event from report through triage, root-cause analysis and corrective action in Patient Safety & Incident Reporting
  • Work the Antibiotic Stewardship Tracker review queue and record interventions and prescriber responses
  • Review a Pharmacy Diversion Monitor flag fairly, treating it as a reason to look rather than a finding
  • Review a contact list and record exposure decisions in Infection Control & Contact Tracing
  • Trace an implant, tissue graft or blood unit through a recall, excursion or reaction investigation
  • Explain where each product stops and your staff's decisions and external reporting begin

Skills you’ll gain

  • Safety event triage and root-cause analysis
  • Antibiotic stewardship review
  • Controlled substance diversion review
  • Contact tracing and outbreak records
  • Implant, tissue and blood unit traceability
  • Regulatory reporting boundaries

Before you start

  • You can sign in to Moraph Apps and open records, views and My tasks (see Moraph foundations)
  • You work in, or support, a hospital quality, safety, pharmacy, infection prevention, perioperative or transfusion service team
  • Your organization uses, or is implementing, at least one of the six products covered
  • Recommended first: Moraph foundations: technology for high-stakes work
